I've been writing a Star Trek story, based on the old Synchronicity RPG in which I used to play and judge. One of the main characters is Van (aka "Ensign Vanok"), who is the captain's recently-discovered son.

Van is half-Vulcan and is supposed to be kind of a rogue, which fits with his upbringing. I'm trying to characterize him as a mix of Han Solo and Maverick from Top Gun, with the exception that he doesn't take forever to make the ethical choice like those two. I'm not entirely certain that I was successful in portraying that edgy quality, but then, this is my first attempt at drawing the character!

I used three different leads for this one...I'm not in an inking mood right now so I went to my set of sketching pencils instead!

That would be more amusing to me but for two factors:

1) I actually went to UofM for three semesters. Suffice it to say that I don't lose sleep about their football program.

2) Your Moms hit me with this last week sometime.
